The Engine 350ci
1955 Chevy Pick Up

This was the engine before I done anything to it other than putting in a new battery. This engine had been sitting in the truck out in the elements for close to 17 years. I pulled the engine from the truck and noticed that all of the freeze plugs were rusted out, not popped out, just rusted. I pulled the rest of the remaining pieces of the freeze plugs out and noticed there was massive amounts of muddy gook in the holes. I stuck my finger in some of the holes and the mud came up to my big knuckle on my finger.
There was no way I could get the muddy gook out with my fingers, so I got a 2300psi pressure washer and blew it out. I put the pressure to each freeze plug hole and couldn't believe all the mud that came out. I still don't understand where all the muddy gook came from, the engine has never been under water or even close to under water. I replaced the carburetor, generator, starter, radiator, thermostat, and maybe a few more things that I forgot about.
