Head Liner |

This picture shows the headliner remnants. I had the area around the headliner sandblasted and primed with epoxy primer. There was no rust under the headliner so I didn't want to take the chance of blasting that area. I was afraid it would increase the chance of warping the top. I also did not want to get sand behind the rim where the rubber molding attaches. I may be wrong, but I figure that sand behind that may blow around when driving. I decided to use an adhesive remover to get the remaining headliner from the roof. |
| I took this picture from sitting near the step and looking upward at the headboard. Although it is tough to see here in this picture, this shows the adhesive remover is working and you can see where the scraper had started removing the headliner material. If anyone uses this method, please take care and use eye protection. You may also want to cover any bare skin while using the remover. I dropped a glob on my arm and within a second it was starting to burn. I did think far enough ahead and had a wet rag close by. |
