After a 2½ hour delay and 500 miles instead of 600 miles, the race was finally ran at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kenny Wallace smacks the wall,and his nite is done for this Coca Cola 600.

The Yates Rockets battle it out side by side. Dale Jarrett in the #88 car, and Ernie Irvan in the #28 car.
The 28 car has the colors that Davy Allison had when he won the 600.

Here is Bill Elliott's pit crew at work.
Bill had a very good run this year at the Coca Cola 600.

The Rainbow Warriors have a problem in the pits, and Jeff lost some valuable track position, but not to worry, Jeff made up the distance with a little to spare.

There is a lot of people wondering what the 24 team is getting away with. They have a heck of a secret.
The team won the pole for the Coca Cola 600. The Winston Select, and the Coca Cola 600 all in the same weekend.

Congratulations again Jeff on your 5th victory in 1997!!
